GO Rescue Animals (GORA) was founded by Rakhi Ganguly and Bhaskar Banerjee in loving memory of their son, Akash Banerjee. A Zell Miller Scholar and a passionate advocate for animals, Akash rescued three dogs, one ball python snake, and dedicated countless hours to animal rescue organizations. Tragically, Akash’s life was cut short while he was pursuing his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech. GORA exists to honor his spirit, compassion, and commitment to protecting vulnerable animals—carrying forward the meaningful work he began.
